Ray T. Daniels

Ray T. Daniels is a Communications Strategist and Professional with a specialized focus on nonprofits. He is an advocate for social justice and societal change. He has worked as a Communications Director at the National Black Justice Coalition and the National Association of People With AIDS. He has worked in public relations, marketing, and communications in the corporate world for all-size firms including work with Deloitte, Denny’s, Sprint, KPMG, and Turner & Townsend. He has developed and facilitated training for grassroots activists, students, and community advocates on the dynamics and power of the media. Ray studied English at Virginia Tech and has a paralegal certification from Old Dominion University. He currently works as the Chief Communications Officer for American Booksellers Association.

Ray believes that storytelling is the most effective way to change hearts and minds and the more we find points of interest and commonality, the greater opportunity to change the narrative. He is passionate about leaving the world a better place than when he arrived and devotes time every month to ensure that is the case. He knows that every day is an opportunity to make someone’s life better and is constantly looking for new ways to do just that. Ray has extensive volunteer experience, including serving on the boards of DC Black Pride, Capital Pride, Griot Circle and Reel Affirmations Film Festival.
