Mature Men's Group

Created to encourage a place for men to commune and share their thoughts, fears, reunite with old friends and to build new friendships. A prime concern of the MMG Committee is to create a friendly, non-threatening environment for our members. In setting up MMG, GRIOT realized that the holistic approach is the most effective way to engage the mature gay LGBT POC community. This concern for the person as a whole, have played a not insignificant part in making GRIOT Circle innovative and growing community, one of the most culturally conscious communities in the New York City area. The success of this strategy over the years has been amply proved by the increase in membership at the organization as we continue t grow by 25% in new membership annually.

We engage speakers on all topics of interest to our members. In addition, one meeting out of every four is a purely social evening without invited speakers—giving members an opportunity to relax and get to know one another in a friendly environment. We also present gay-themed feature films on a separate day for those members who wish to enjoy them.

We publish a monthly newsletter, GRIOTNEWS, which shows the wide variety of activities GRIOT Circle makes available to members & supporters.
